The equipment and supplies I have requested for my students will service as a classroom experimental laboratory. Students will have the ability to plant, observe, grow, and harvest fruits and vegetables for themselves and sharing with our community. The essential needs for this learning project will bring to life the agricultural education curriculum of teaching students how to grow their own nutritional source of food supplies. The individualized hands on opportunities students will experience in this learning laboratory will strengthen their ability to change the statistic from 90% of students "not knowing" where their food comes from to 90% of students "knowing" where their food comes from. As students gain a firm understanding and knowledge base of exactly where their food comes from as well as how to produce viable and nutritional needs, they can take this life skill set home and teach others the same necessities as they move in the right direction of becoming a sustainable contribution to their families and community.
