These hands-on manipulatives will allow my students to interact with fractions, decimals, and geometric figures through concrete and tactile means. Students learn better when they can utilize all of their senses to make discoveries through building, creating, and observing relationships between numbers and operations. With the Magna-Tiles, fractions and decimals teaching kit, and a math maniputlatives library, my students will be challenged to find patterns, rules, and connections between operations and numbers. I teach my kids “the why” behind the math, so they can continue to build upon that foundation as they increase their math knowledge. These resources are a great way to engage my students with special needs, as well. It allows them to visualize what is taught!
