My students come from many diverse backgrounds. My students are always so interested in what famous artist we are highlighting and what new medium we will be discussing. My students' enthusiasm is contagious when they get to work with new art supplies that they never have used before. Printmaking is way to express yourself and make multiple original works of art. Many of my students have not been exposed to any kind of art since COVID-19. Art is a form of therapy and expression! Many of the students I see have had so much social and emotional trauma since 2020. Art gives them a way to express themselves and have a creative release! Students can learn problem solving skills, teamwork, listening skill and numerous other objectives with this lesson on printmaking. We plan to use the new gel print pads to make multiple copies of art to be given to loved ones.
