As a kindergarten teacher, I love watching my students explore in creative play. When they have the opportunity to create their own Lego cities, homes, or whatever they are using parts of their brains that they don't use sitting at a desk. Also, playing with Legos and building things with other students teaches teamwork and communication skills. They will also learn how to help each other and ask for help. By playing together, each student will have a chance to play with students they might not associate with on a daily basis.
