These new texts will be used to increase scholars' love for reading. Kids will be able to freely explore the text on their own or with a partner. The books were specifically chosen to increase the diversity within my classroom library, so that students can read books which feature characters that look like them. Books with topics relating to current events were also chosen so that kids can explore these topics in an age appropriate way. My two 3rd grade classes can’t wait to explore new books and grow their love for literacy.
