My kinder friends amaze me with their willingness to learn! They love exploring new things, creating fun projects, and using their imagination. It is especially fun for them to work with a friend and let their curious spirits run free!!! The resources I have selected will be used primarily during math centers, where they work with a partner. These resources will provide my kinder friends hands on experiences with numerous math skills such as: number recognition, counting, addition and subtraction, greater than/less than, comparing numbers, as well as gaining STEM experience! My kinder friends are noticeably more engaged in their learning when given hands on manipulatives, allowing them the opportunity to spark creativity! I chose resources that would not only help teach the math skills needed for kindergarten, but also make learning fun for my kinder students! The wooden number board will be a fantastic tool in number recognition, allowing my students to visually see numbers on a number board as well as the hands-on ability to place the numbers in their correct spot. The fidget number pop its and Number Blocks math link cubes can be used for number recognition as well as counting. Addition and subtraction can be hard skills for young children so I have chosen several manipulatives to aid in their learning. Ten frames are a tool we use to teach addition so I picked out 2 different kinds with magnets. The Sweet Sums game and mat dice games will be more resources they can use to practice this skill. Every kid loves to build/create/explore so I have chosen several resources that look absolutely fun for STEM! I think they will love the Plugo STEM resource as it touches on math, literacy, and STEM.
