Learning in the special education classroom has changed significantly since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. My students are struggling with emotional and mental distress due to the stress of the pandemic. Items such as noise-canceling headphones will help my students feel more comfortable in our classroom and other campus surroundings. My students have a variety of special needs and benefit greatly from hands-on manipulatives to assist their learning. The manipulatives I have requested will help them with basic learning and life skills they need to be successful in school. I also have to plan learning opportunities for my students when distance learning is necessary when school closures occur due to rises in COVID cases and quarantines. The curriculum workbooks I have requested will help with these distance learning needs.
