In Algebra 2, a key portion of our curriculum centers on graphing a variety of mathematical functions and discovering the unique properties of each function family. Because of the high price of graphing calculators, and in light of the economic impact of COVID-19 on many of my students' families, there are only a few of my students who have the means to purchase a graphing calculator for themselves. I have a few school owned graphing calculators that the students can use, but at the moment, I only have enough for about 1/4 of my students.
With these new graphing calculators, more of my students will get to experience the joy of discovering patterns and properties of various graphs for themselves. Additionally, these calculators are ACT approved. Each spring, our school offers a free ACT test to my junior students, and I have many students who check out calculators from me to use on that test. I would love to be able to offer calculators to even more students this year!
