These math manipulatives will make a difference in my students' learning by allowing them to have various opportunities to practice their math skills. The classroom set of linking cubes, unifix cubes, and double sided red/white counters will allow students to create and explore making their own equations. Utilizing the unifix and linking cubes the students will have a hands on way too manipulate numbers to understand the process of number sense. The use of these manipulatives will increase the students number awareness as they visualize patterns, comparing numbers, counting forwards, backwards, and demonstrating addition and subtraction skills. The imitation money manipulatives will advance the students knowledge for financial literacy. The plastic coins are essential for the students to create real world thinking and it helps the students build better minds. Also, with continued learning during Math workstations the manipulatives will be used to strengthen various advanced skills such as word problems for addition and subtraction, and critical thinking. Whereas, the students have ownership and control of their learning. These items will vastly improve the quality of my teaching and classroom culture for all of my students to succeed.
