For 2 years now we have hosted local esports tournaments in my classroom for Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Super Mario Kart 8 and other similar titles. For all these events, students have volunteered their own gaming consoles and equipment in order to make the tournaments happen. The requested resources will provide consistency and opportunity for students in hosting club tournaments, practices, and learning new technical skills. The Nintendo Switch gaming console, accessories, and streaming hardware will remain here on campus to use whenever they are needed. Having a Switch console that will remain at the school in my classroom will allow students to practice and compete without having to bring their own equipment to school. The game capture hardware will allow my esports class students an opportunity to learn a variety of ways to stream their content of choice; to experiment with different media creation tools; and to share their passion with whomever they choose.
