As a reading teacher, I work daily with groups of struggling students grades Kindergarten through 3rd. My students would benefit tremendously to be able to use engaging activities and learning games to help improve and build on their knowledge in early reading skills. I provide extra reading instruction and guidance to about 45 students on a daily basis. The students are so excited to come to my class where they are given one on one attention, small group instruction, and extra opportunities to practice newly learned skills or ones that they are struggling with. Use of new educational activities and games would be a fun exciting, and highly effective way for students to practice reading skills and get excited about succeeding in reading. The materials will be used to help young struggling readers practice letter-sound knowledge, word recognition, spelling patterns, decoding skills, and blending sounds. These tools will provide and promote the student's sense of competence and success in literacy skills They will become better readers during this critical time of learning. I'm beyond excited to see my students engaged in learning and to witness each one's individual growth in reading.
