With the loss of time in the classroom, students' reading performance often suffers a loss. Encouraging readers is vital to educational success. Just as important, encouraging reading of interesting topics, offering a diverse selection of reading material, and inspiring a future scientist is equally important to lifelong student success. Our school library is limited in non-fiction books for 1st grade. Offering a variety of book selections in my classroom will give my students greater access. I can't wait to hear all about these interesting topics once they read the books!
