Several of my students coming into my classroom from a virtual platform, due to Covid-19 are struggling with the transition to traditional school. In my 27 years of teaching, more than ever I see the mental stress due to the lack of ability to stay on task compared to their peers. Recognizing this gap in stamina, I have been searching for ways to ease every child back into a daily routine. It is a priority for me as a teacher to help each child mature in his/her own learning style. These desks will allow the freedom of movement and eliminate behaviors in a productive way. Being able to move or stand will help students feel comfortable in a classroom setting. Encouraging students to use the pedal station to relieve built-up energy while continuing to work will be a tremendous gift to their learning.
