The Covid-19 pandemic has made teaching and learning especially challenging! I've found it's more important than ever to keep my 4th graders highly engaged and learning every moment possible! They are also working to get used to being in a classroom environment as opposed to learning at home. All the items I chose will be extremely helpful in achieving both important goals for my students. My students are working hard to fill the learning deficits that have occurred due to the pandemic, I thought carefully about the items I've chosen to help improve my instruction and increase student motivation. Here is a summary of each item chosen and a brief description of at least one way it will be used in the classroom: The document camera will help me streamline my instruction to students. I currently send photos of pages to my smart board and this isn't ideal. The sticky chart paper helps me to keep instruction on the wall for students who need a little help on future assignments. The stools will greatly help me with small group interventions and instruction. I currently don't have chairs for my small group table and students drag their chairs across the room, which isn't the smoothest transition! The Flocabulary subscription will be huge for increasing instruction and motivation! I've purchased this in the past and students sing the songs to remember. The rest of the smaller items are to improve focus and motivation. Our water fountains are off, the florescent lights give some kids headaches, and the kids need help getting motivated more than ever this year!
