I have multiple students in my classroom with ADHD and behavioral issues. Currently, we have two flex seating options and my students who are able to use them become more engaged and create less of a distraction to their peers. My students with both ADHD and behavioral issues become visibly upset when they are unable to sit and focus on a project or assignment. For one of my students, his wobbly stool has created a night and day difference. I love seeing the confidence that is produced when he has his stool and is able to move while actively staying engaged in his work. Receiving more flexible seating options would allow my other students to experience the rewarding feeling of completing work independently while not being a distraction to their peers.
