COVID-19 has limited the access of our youngest students to educational toys and experiences in a formal educational environment. Students are ready to learn and desire challenges and new cognitive experiences. Creating a makerspace will also allow for increased peer interaction which is imperative in light of the limited social experiences due to this pandemic. As students build and see their working creations, they will be inspired to brainstorm, design, and create inventions of their own. Using the simple machine and robot kits will help learners understand the science behind forces, gravity, solar energy, and coding. Young scientists need to be engaged in hands-on learning as often as possible to create a solid scientific foundation upon which to build tomorrow's success.
