Creating an environment that is inviting and fun, allows for students to be more open to learning. Growing up, I remember everything was always paper and pencil. I want to change the idea that learning is boring! I am requesting learning centers, flash cards and games to create an environment that is fun and inviting for all students! By using hands-on manipulatives will allow students to be more engaged, motivated and excited about learning! It promotes communication and allows them to visually think outside the proverbial box. These manipulatives will be used to enhance the lessons being taught throughout the year! By using the multiplication and division flashcards it allows students to retain the information and it builds fluency. They love challenges, so these will be great for games like "Around the World." They will also be great for our daily math centers! The Elapsed Time Instant Learning Center will allow for the students to master elapsed time while adding a fun aspect to it. The Write and Wipe boards will allow them to use something fun to write on, all the while making it easy for me to do a quick assessment while doing a mini lesson, with the class. I want them to remember their 4th grade class being fun, inviting and a place where they loved to learn! I believe these manipulatives will help our classroom learning year after year!
