Some of my middle school students are nonverbal. Some read far below grade level. They learn best when they are provided hands on kits and materials. With the Science Kits we will explore habitats. We will explore what animals need to survive. My students will learn that animals can´t survive in all habitats. Next, my exceptional learners will actually see what animals from all over the world look like. They will sort the animals into appropriate habitats. My middle school students are learning what other students their age are learning. However, with this project, they will have a much more engaging experience. In addition, my nonreaders learn with activities that include picture sentences, picture comprehension, and picture assessments. Many of these resources will be purchased from Teachers Pay Teachers. Finally, my students will make their own habitat. They will each choose their favorite habitat and create a diorama. Then, they will share their habitat with the class.
