This literature will allow our students a classroom novel set to read together individually and in collaborative groups. The theme of the book will encourage those students that struggle with reading and keeping up academically to gain confidence in themselves and their capabilities. This novel will allow for building community within the classroom by also increasing stamina, vocabulary and comprehension. Students will build fluency skills by engaging in interesting and enriching reader's theater. One of the biggest skills, I have noticed students struggling with is fluency since the pandemic. Our students fluency will expand with this literature by providing materials that our classroom is lacking. The reader's theater material will also provide a way for students to engage in reading at home with their families.
