Life in the music classroom looks very different post-Covid. Many students suffer from social anxiety and performance anxiety like never before. We spend time in our classroom working to develop coping skills through music. I would like to offer a music appreciation class where students will learn how to play guitar, learn about the genres of music that utilize guitars and gain confidence through performance on guitar. I have many students that have expressed an interest in learning guitar and I believe this will be a way for music to reach students that might be interested in something different than the traditional music courses like band or vocal.
