My students have had so many setbacks in their learning due to having to quarantine, deaths in their families, virtual learning, and sickness. We are finally back in school and trying to fill in the gaps from all of the setbacks. I would like to give my students the opportunity to have some fun, engaging, critical thinking, and hands-on opportunities that they may work on with their fellow classmates. These kids are inquisitive and always want to know how things work and operate. Valuable time has been lost with social skills and how to interact with their classmates while they were learning virtually. This is an important part of K+ and this age student. The STEM kits and building manipulatives can help bridge the gap by developing their social skills with their peers while teaching them to think critically. They will be able to collaborate with their classmates to successfully constuct a bridge that keeps 3 goats safe the troll, design a house that can't be blown down, build a chair that Goldilocks can't break, explore geometry conepts as they build, design and build a working robot, and create a chain reaction of fun all while having fun. They will get to do all of this while further developing their social skills and critical thinking skills. I can't wait to bring the joy and excitment back to their learning in-person.
