When my students started school last year as kindergartners, they were either in virtual school or they were in person learning... but those that were in person were unfortunately very limited in the amount of partner games / hands on activities and learning due to the pandemic. I want to bring the fun and joy back into the classroom by hatching chicks this spring! With our own class incubator, we can hatch up to 22 chicks. Once the chicks are ready to be moved from the incubator, we'll place them in a tub with the heat lamp and chick food/water so that the students can continue to study their development for a few weeks until they're ready to move to a farm. We'll use the chick books to deepen our understanding of the chicken lifecycle and chick development. With the printer ink, I will be able to print off more math and ELA games for my students to work in pairs or small groups. I'll be able to finally print several board games off that I've purchased from Teachers Pay Teachers. Using the reading robot, my students will also be able to play several games based on the science of reading, as well as other decoding and blending games that will strengthen their phonological awareness and phonics skills.
