These specific tools will aid in reading comprehension, letter recognition, fine motor skills and social/emotional learning, which will lead to continued successful educational experiences. The multicultural retelling will help my students to understand diversity and connect with the characters which allows for an engaging way to comprehend a story's lesson. Letter recognition is a struggle for most of my students as they have not had the same early childhood experiences as children previously had; such as going out and reading labels/sign/billboards etc. Which is why my students would greatly benefit from many opportunities to identify letters, and put words together with items that they love, i.e. magnetic connectors. The fine motor skills acquired from stringing beads will aid them in building their hand muscles and prep them for holding pencils.
