As a child I struggled to love reading and now as a teacher it is one of the things I want my students to enjoy. With these novels, I hope to help them find a series that they want to read as well as teach them some of the standards required by the state of Oklahoma. Every year I have students who will select books from the Magic Tree House series by Mary Pope Osborne and I Survived by Lauren Tarshis, but there are never enough. I would like to use them with my whole class to increase their understanding of events that have made our country what it is today.
