My students have been accustomed to only painting on canvas in their art classes. Introducing the art of sculpting will help advance students' learning. With being in a low-income community, students cannot afford to purchase extra art project materials and teachers do not get enough money to purchase these extra supplies. I am excited to be able to introduce sculpting into their curriculum after being affected by Covid the past two years. I think this project will get them excited to be back in class by allowing them to have a hands-on experience using the sculpting tools with the clay. They will get to paint their completed project after it dries.
