During this pandemic, my kindergarten students have worked very hard and continued to learn. My project will further support and strengthen their literacy skills and social skills through meaningful and joyful whole group reading experiences. Students will not only learn more about literacy development, they will also learn to problem solve, understand emotions, and improve social skills. Students will also be given opportunities to experience the joy of creativity and curiosity as they work together with peers while painting, building, and exploring creative materials. With the difficult circumstances of COVID-19, it is more important than ever for teachers to inspire the JOY of learning, strengthen the feeling of connection, provide opportunities for creative expression, embrace a growth mindset, and encourage kindness.

About my class
