Pretend play is so important to Kindergarten. A housekeeping center will help my students learn how to work together as a family choosing and preparing meals, doing laundry, and cleaning their home environment. Children learn from one another as they play. I have chosen a variety of pretend food and preparation materials to help them to see that while family lives are similar, they can also be very unique. The block center will help them with small motor skills which is very important for students learning at the primary level.
