The equipment I am requesting will assist instructors in implementing activities not currently taught in the physical education program. These materials will also enhance lessons already introduced to the students. All students k-6th grade will benefit from materials requested. We intend to work specifically on pickleball and tennis. Students will work on striking a moving object, using an instrument to strike object, placement, awareness, hand-eye coordination, teamwork, cardiovascular endurance, locomotor movements, and muscle memory. They will also learn the rules and the correct way to play the games. With the rising popularity of the two activities, we feel it is a necessity to introduce them to our student population because of all the listed benefits to overall health and academic learning.
