With the tools, my construction class wants to build a DIY style greenhouse. These students will learn safety, tool use and application, construction principles, techniques and design. As a cross-curriculum application, Physical Science and Biology students will be able to study and experiment with Thermal, Solar and Radiant energies, Seed selection, Germination, Crosses, Growth, etc. within the greenhouse environment. All students will learn how to recycle materials, composting and it's benefits, and horticultural life and the impacts it carries throughout our world. We hope to share the results of our products with our campuses, downtown streets, and reach out to the elderly in the community. The construction students have a desire to assist our elders with building wheelchair ramps and small repairs to assist their needs. We feel this project will offer a beautiful, stress-free garden area to beautify our school, see organic life, and even address mental health issues for students, teachers and visitors. With the stress of the pandemic, we want something hands on, full of life, that needs us to be there, and is able to give back in beautiful ways!
