Being from a small school, each teacher is asked to come up with an elective for the students for our last hour. I am an English teacher, so I tried to think of something that would tie into that and still be interesting for the students. My original thought was to do art and we have done some fun art projects like handprint self-portraits. Then I decided to ask the kids if they would like to do a play. This would give me an opportunity to introduce dramas to them in a different setting than English class. They were so excited! All the other students loved watching them perform and could not wait until they got the opportunity to do a play also. I have been providing all the costumes and supplies to make the props for the plays and this funding would help me be able to continue to provide the students an opportunity to do something new and exciting that they otherwise would not have the opportunity to do. Thank you for considering me!
