These inquisitive third-grade students will have a unique opportunity to gain knowledge, and hands-on Science-based inquiry into how to plant, and grow their own garden. They will see how plants grow roots with the see-thru planter. The students will plant seeds using the small planter cups, and transplant them into the garden at school, or home. The students will gain a life-long skill in sustainable living. They will be learning about Botany, Ecology, and the Environment by using the School Garden Curriculum book, and various gardening story books accessed through this hands-on project. The emphasis of this project will be on the Farm-To-Table movement, so that students see the process from seed to food. The students will be provided opportunities to harvest, and eat the food that they grow.
