In my math classroom, I teach ages K-5. So I need different manipulatives that can be used for multiple ages. If students can't feel comfortable in their learning environment, then they are less hesitant to learn. The stools will help them to move as they need in their own personal work space. With the different manipulatives, it helps to assure them new and different fun ways of learning how to do the task at hand. They enjoy having something in their hands to manipulate. Seeing the "Ah ha" moments that come from hands on activities is the best feeling! They feel like they have accomplished a task they didn't think that they'd be able to do.
