At the end of our measurement unit I want to transform my classroom into an Aviation experience. My scholars will become pilots in this real-world activity. They will learn how pilots use angles to navigate an airplane, calculate distance and determine arrival times while traveling. They will use skills such as measuring with protractors, drawing angles on maps, and writing about their findings. Creating an Aviation math experience will hopefully spark an interest in an area that they had never thought about before. The resources provided will help my scholars make the connection of how the skills they are learning in the classroom transfer to the real-world. Role play exposes them to the opportunity to try new interests which opens up doors for their future. Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today. - Malcolm X
