My colleagues and I have seen a rise in the number of speech and language disorders at our school site and this could be due to the pandemic. I have selected materials that will benefit many different types of speech and language difficulties: auditory processing disorders, executive functioning disorders, and phonological awareness disorders. My classroom currently does not have many materials to work with these specific disorders. These games/card decks/workbooks will promote a fun classroom environment that I strive to give to my speech students while working towards their individualized education goals. The Speech Buddies will serve my students with an articulation delay learning to produce a new sound for the first time. For some students, a verbal or visual cue does not resonate with them, so a tactile cue (Speech Buddies) is needed to help them learn correct tongue placement.
