By creating a classroom library, I hope to engage my students in the target language and improve reading proficiency. I have chosen numerous books at various skill levels in an effort to make learning more exciting and interesting. The entertaining books that I have chosen are targeted at the delivery of information through comprehensible input, while often exposing students to culture, as well. I plan to use these books as supplements for free voluntary reading time and will implement some of the favorites to cover as a class in an effort to improve reading skills. The variety of skill levels amongst the books will allow me to differentiate for the many students that are performing at different proficiency levels with the hopes of enriching those students that have achieved mastery early and remediating for those that are still struggling with basic reading skills.
