Projects, modeling and hands on experiences are what makes learning fun, fun makes learning memorable and memories last a lifetime and many of our students missed this during our pandemic. In our digital world its so easy to show a video of activities and science experiments at home or even in class when we had to distance ourselves. It’s easier still to look and read about it in your text book. BORING… With so many objectives to “get through” is can be easier and quicker just to read and watch these experience, but how much learning is really taking place if that is all we are doing in the classroom. I know that theses processes are necessary but so is the action of hands on learning. I want to get our students back to being excited about learning and put learning in action. Students get more excited if they are measuring the temperature of a fizzing acidic reaction, building and measuring the length of their roller coasters, then further still timing and calculating the speed of the marble rolling down that coaster. These are just a few of the activists that we would be using this equipment for in my classroom.
