I have a classroom full of enthusiastic and eager learners. I also, have many students that are working hard to find ways to focus and stay on task. Even when things are difficult , my students desire to keep trying to reach their own personal successes.
The excitement of a struggling student who starts to experience even the smallest hint of success is priceless! The feeling a teacher has when it happens is amazing! My students have learned to find what works (and doesn't work) for them. Study better on the floor away from distractions? Grab a lap desk or a wobble cushion and find that perfect spot. Having trouble staying on task? Lets' set a timer and challenge ourselves to finish the task before the sand runs out. Frustrated because the uppercase letters on the keyboard are not the lowercase ones you've learned? Connect that special keyboard that makes typing a little less overwhelming. Grab supplies quickly and easily from the caddy so there's no time wasted to get that assignment finished.
I want my students to discover ways that make them as individuals successful. With the items on my wish list I'm certain this can happen. They are a wonderful bunch of kids and I want to give them every opportunity to discover what modalities benefit their learning. Thank you for taking the time to consider my project. May God bless you for having a desire to support the education of our future generations.
