To help my students learn amid the pandemic, I could use a S.T.E.M. center in my classroom to build students' social skills and cognitive learning through team and group work. Since students are now transitioning back into in person learning they are lacking social skills due to the pandemic and distance learning. Teamwork has been hard for some students to grasp and due to the pandemic I have seen this through first hand experiences where many elementary students are struggling with their social skills. S.T.E.M. centers give students the opportunity to enjoy hands-on experiences while learning how to work with one another in a non-traditional way. This concept will also help students advance in their academic learning later on in life.
