These students are behind socially and emotionally because of all of the distancing we saw throughout this covid pandemic. Social and emotional awareness is so important to raising good citizens for the future. Play is essential to the development of student emotions. These manipulatives will help students to learn the academic standards while developing their social and emotional skills. The storytelling kits will meet the literacy standards of story retelling, main idea, characters, etc., and will help to build vocabulary, speech skills, and social skills. The alphabet teaching tubs will help me to provide examples to my students of things that start with each letter. Having physical examples helps students remember better.
