I am applying for this grant to receive a classroom set of Who Was and STEAM nonfiction books for my 4th grade classroom. Nonfiction books help to build vocabulary, promote language skills, and make real-world connections for students. I especially think this is important as we are dealing with the effects of Covid 19 and how it has affected each of these areas. My class of 21 eager 4th graders will use these books to help better their reading skills and improve their vocabulary while making those real-world connections.
