Because of the impact Covid-19 has had, I am seeing more and more students who struggle with reading. Many of the non-readers will still willingly pick up a graphic novel because it doesn’t look as “scary” to them. They believe they can manage this type of book. I have witnessed in the past that getting the student past their fear of reading has paved the way to building lifetime readers. The only thing standing in these students' way is a lack of graphic novels to choose from. I feel a well stocked classroom will fulfill this need.
