Nothing is quite like hearing a recording of yourself, whether speaking or playing music. By being able to hear themselves back, these students will become even more engaged with music that they record themselves or conversations they have with their classmates about their learning. The process of recording and editing audio helps prepare students for the varied opportunities in our digital world. The greatest opportunity this technology offers to my students is possibility. Whether that's a couple students making a podcast about the musical this year, recording their latest heavy metal song, hearing themselves play the band's contest song, or something that they themselves will tell me that we can do, I can't wait to see the possibilities.
