The use of the smartboard is a daily point of instruction in my classroom. Adding a document camera to this feature would help me and my students tremendously. I currently have to stand at the board to write the instructional material on the Smartboard. However, this is not a preferred method because with class sizes all the way up to 28, it seems that no matter where I stand while providing instruction a student's view of the board is blocked. That is where the document camera would help my students tremendously. A document camera would provide my students with a better view of all the instructional material on the board, as well as provide me with a better view of my students. I could ensure that all my students are taking notes and be sure that my students are not confused by being able to look around the room. Not only will this help my students in the classroom, but it will also help them on distance learning days. In order to maximize student learning, I would be able to pre-record lessons with a document camera and post the videos for students to learn while out of school.
