My first grade students would benefit from a flexible seating classroom. Flexible seating allows some degree of choice and control over their environment. In these unprecedented times for schools, it is important that we keep our students as safe as possible. Providing seating arrangements in which students can spread out while also getting other benefits is essential. Students can sway, teeter, bounce, lean or stand with flexible seating. These alternative choices increase blood flow to the brain keeping their minds more alert and focused. This in turn improves overall behavior. Student achievement can be directly impacted by their learning environment. I believe this will help make my students more active, relaxed and engaged resulting in a fun learning environment in which they look forward to being in.
