Flexible seating options will allow my students to feel at home in the classroom. Home life and living conditions for many of my students looks different since the pandemic started. Some lost grandparents, others said goodbye to their mothers or fathers. Bringing in flexible seating arrangements will reinforce the idea that our classroom is inviting, not adding stress. Students can forget the uncertainty that lurks outside the classroom, giving them the ability to focus on collaborating with classmates and growing to their full potential. Happy, comfortable students excel in the classroom. Reading is an escape. I wish to refresh my current classroom library. While I have a wide selection of books, I feel it is necessary to update. I cannot express my need for books during this pandemic any better than one of my avid readers recently put it. She said, "Sometimes it's nice to be somewhere else." And I couldn't agree with her more! A fictional distraction from our ever changing circumstances seems justified during our COVID plagued reality.
