In what has now become precedented times, it is more important than ever to assure students that 1) They are not alone, and 2) Their voice/ideas/opinions/history matters. Giving students a voice (podcasting) while inspiring them with the voices that came before (novels and nonfiction texts) will show them that just about anything is possible. The novels and texts I have included in this project with foster not only a rich connection with our Native students but with their non-Native classmates, as well. These texts can also be paired alongside some our current curriculum in both History and English classrooms. The podcasting equipment will help further spark creativity while also meeting many of our speaking and listening standards across disciplines.
