In first grade, we look at the life cycles of living creatures and plants. This project will help our students to witness firsthand the lives of a reptile and mammal. We will study these animals for science, comparing their habitats, diets, and habits, but we will also utilize these friends for literacy. We will use them as real life examples to help us create both fiction and nonfiction pieces. In this manner, we can compare and contrast these two creatures, and also compare and contrast these two forms of literature. It is my hope to spark excitement for science and literature in this manner.

About my class
