Currently, we are learning block based coding with the support of code.org curriculum where the students are able to observe responses of their block codes on the objects (visually). This gets them very excited and more interested in coding and computer science. The more they complete the projects on code.org the more they get excited, confident in coding, and the more they start to make connections with other courses and basic building blocks of computer programming. Having experienced the excitement of students when they completed block based coding projects, I decided to have more supplies to promote hands-on experience and project based learning in class using stem robot building block toys. That will help them also to make connections between other courses they are learning and basics of coding.
