Since the pandemic, my students have a hard time interacting in play with others. They also are lacking in social and language skills because of social distancing and lack of opportunity to socialize due to pandemic. They have missed out on peer interaction and language. I am always trying to find new and unique was to help them socialize while enriching what is being taught in my classroom. I have found one way that I can do this is through play centers. Through this more relaxed environment you can see evidences of concepts that are being taught in the more traditional manner, social interaction and language skills. By providing these play centers, students can explore different social setting and use their vocabulary and social skills all while enriching their learning. A child that might find theirselves drawn to a kitchen. In that center a child can use meAsuri that was taught traditional in the classroom as well new vocabulary to interact with others. At that center, another student might find a love of serving by baking and feeding others. Through play students can reinforce and enrich things that are taught in the traditional classroom. A student can often find loves and interest in things through play that they might not have ever know. Through the power of play and proper play centers a student can do both.
