As a result of the global pandemic and external factors, my students have endured so much in their short lives. They have lacked a sense of normalcy for 1/3 of their lives. Providing a collaborative and comfortable learning space is essential for creating a sense of normal for my students while also providing them a space to flourish. Incorporating various forms of flexible seating into the classroom would create a safe space for my students to learn, grow, and blossom. These materials would make a difference in my students' learning as they would allow my students to take a step away from reality and take a step into learning. The classroom would be a space for them to focus on learning and growing as individuals. Flexible seating would also allow them to collaborate more easily, which is something that they have been missing throughout the pandemic. Being able to learn from one another and develop meaningful connections is essential for student success. This project being funded would not only impact my students' learning but also their social and emotional well-being. After missing out on so many things over the last two years, being able to learn in a comfortable environment where they can collaborate with their peers would be beyond beneficial. It would be a large step towards restoring a sense of normalcy for my wonderful, inspirational students.
